Site Description:
Upper Kananaskis Lake is located within Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and offers stunning mountain scenery and recreational opportunities. Visitors can access the lake by parking at the Upper Kananaskis Lake Day Use Area; please note that a Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required for parking. The main hiking loop around the lake is approximately 15.8 kilometers in length, with an elevation gain of 296 meters. This route typically takes 4 to 6 hours to complete and is considered an easy to moderate hike, providing panoramic views of the lake and surrounding peaks.
