Alberta's diverse game fish are a source of enjoyment for hundreds of thousands of anglers each year. Since different regulations apply to different species, it's important to know how to tell the different species apart. Some of the fish you catch you may have to release, and others may have certain restrictions on them, such as catch and size limits. You can identify the various species by their distinguishing characteristics.
