By submitting an entry to this competition, you (the contestant) agree to the following competition terms and conditions:

The contestant represents and warrants that everyone depicted in the photograph has been shown and made aware of this FOIP collection notice.
Copyright licence: By submitting a photograph, the contestant grants a fee-free, non-exclusive, assignable, sub-licensable, irrevocable permission to the Government of Alberta, on a royalty-free basis to produce, reproduce,
transmit, publish, and distribute the photograph the contestant has submitted on a worldwide basis (“Licence”).
The contestant also represents and warrants to the Government of Alberta:
- that the contestant has the power and capacity to accept, execute and deliver this agreement
- that this agreement is legally binding upon and enforceable against the contestant
- that the contestant is the sole owner and creator of the photograph they have submitted and that the contestant has the full power and authority to grant the Licence, and
- that the photograph the contestant has submitted is original and does not infringe any existing intellectual property or privacy rights, including copyright, of any third parties.
The contestant also irrevocably waives in whole all moral rights in favour of the Government of Alberta. The contestant agrees that the Government of Alberta shall be entitled to modify the photograph including, but not limited to:
- adding elements such as text, or
- resizing or cropping elements of the photograph
The contestant shall have no interest or rights in any products or materials created by the Government of Alberta that make use of the photograph. The validity and interpretation of this agreement and of each clause or part are to be
governed by the laws and courts of the Province of Alberta.
Permitted photographs: The contestant must have taken the photograph that they submit. The photograph must depict a fishing location in Alberta and the contestant must include information as to where and when the photograph
- Consent: The contestant must have the consent of any other persons included in the photograph to
- be in the photo, and
- have their photo submitted to this contest
The contestant must document and be prepared to provide any consents obtained with their entry upon request.
File format: Online entries must be in JPEG format (.jpg or .jpeg), and must have a minimum resolution of 750 pixels × 1050 pixels and a maximum resolution of 1500 pixels x 2100 pixels.
Contestant age limit: The contestant must be 18 or over to enter this competition.
Photo submission limit: Each contestant may submit no more than one  photograph.

My Wild Alberta Summer Fishing Photo Contest
Contestants entering the competition by mail must include the following additional information as part of their entry:
- High-quality colour (or black and white if it is a black and white photograph) copy of their photograph
- The name and address of the contestant
The Government of Alberta is not responsible for entries which are delayed, lost, misdirected, incomplete, damaged or destroyed. Any entry that is tampered with, unreadable or mutilated will not be accepted. Do not send us your only
Entries: All entries become the property of the Government of Alberta and non-winning entries shall be destroyed after the closing date of the competition.
Prizes: There are two prizes available:
- First-place prize of fishing gear worth approximately $200
- Second-place prize worth approximately $100
There are no regional allocations of prizes.
Winners: The first prize winner shall be selected on the basis of the photograph which has the highest number of votes and complies with the competition rules. The second prize winner shall be selected on the basis of
the photograph which has the second highest number of votes and complies with the competition rules. The chances of winning a prize depend on the total number and quality of eligible entries received prior to the closing date.
If a contestant declines the prize, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to another entry in accordance with these competition rules. If the Government of Alberta does not receive entries of sufficient quantity or quality, the Government
of Alberta may, at its sole discretion, not award any prizes or declare any winners.
No purchase necessary: No purchase is necessary in order to enter this competition.
Cancellation, termination, modification or suspension: The Government of Alberta reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition for any reason, without any prior notice to any contestant.
These rules may be changed without notice or reason including, if necessary, to comply with any applicable law.
Closing date: The closing date for this competition shall be on July 22, 2017. After that date, no further entries shall be permitted.
The votes shall be counted and winners informed by August 1, 2017, by email or mail, that his/her entry has won and the procedure to follow to claim the applicable prize.
No Quebec entries: This competition is not open to residents of Quebec.
Limited number of contestants: This competition shall be capped at 500 entries
Indemnity: In no event will the Government of Alberta be liable for any damages arising from this agreement or from the use of the photographs. By submitting a photograph, the contestant agrees to indemnify and hold
harmless the Government of Alberta, its employees, contractors, and agents from any and all third-party claims, demands, actions or costs (including legal costs on a solicitor-client basis) arising from this agreement or the Government
of Alberta’s use of the photograph.
Facebook Release: The entrant agrees that in no event will Facebook be liable for any damages arising from the entrant’s participation in this competition.
